Graduate Accelerated Programs (GAP) through the College of Business and
Management, be aware that their tuition deadlines are different from general
University tuition deadlines. For GAP, tuition is due to be paid in full the
day before classes begin each term. If payment is not received before the first
day of classes, you will be administratively withdrawn from the program.
Because the online program that you have applied and been admitted to is based on an 8-week period, while the University customarily addresses programs offered in a 16-week period, you may receive conflicting information from the University of Illinois System Bursar Office. The payment and due dates sent by the bursar office do not apply to your 8-week online courses. If you have questions, please contact your program advisor.

- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university

Applicants to the UIS Online MBA must meet at least one of the following combinations for admission.
- Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university
- Bachelor's degree in business from a regionally accredited college or university with a 2.5 GPA or higher
- Bachelor's degree with a non-business major from a regionally accredited college or university with a 2.5 GPA or higher and completion of gateway prerequisite courses BUS 501 Business Perspectives and ACC 505 Fundamentals of Business Decisions Making
Note: Students in the online MBA are not eligible to participate in the GA programs or to use University of Illinois Employee/Child of Employee Tuition Waivers.

- Explain fundamental networking concepts through a network model that divides data communications into multiple layers, such as application, network and transport, data link, and physical layer

- Demonstrate an understanding of the Internet model, including the functionalities of the transport, network, and data link layer

This course will teach the following:
- Explain cryptography principles and describe the architecture and operations of cryptographic systems
- Discuss common computer attacks and physical, host, and application security
- Cover firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Discuss information security incident response, disaster recovery, and information security risk analysis

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the digital signature creation, verification processes, and the architecture and operations of cryptographic systems
- Demonstrate understanding of firewall operations, access control, host security, and application security
- Describe how to respond to information security incidents and develop disaster recovery plans
- Use encryption programs to secure data and conduct basic cryptanalysis

- Describe Cybersecurity Management concepts and practices
- Describe compliance, governance, policy, and strategic planning for security
- Evaluate security policy and programs, assess risk, and risk management, and develop contingency plans
