Applicants to the UIS Online Human Resource Management Certificate must meet one of the following requirements for admission.

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. No GMAT required for 2.5 GPA or higher.

For the online Human Resource Management Certificate program, you must complete three courses totaling nine credit hours. You may complete prerequisite course MGT 431 concurrently with certificate coursework, as advised. The use of a Windows-based PC is preferred for this program.

Operational approach to managing people at work, drawing from behavioral sciences. Builds on the concept of reconciliation and integration of worker-organizational interests through supportive situation-oriented leadership by both line and staff managers. Focuses on emerging issues and concepts relating to management of human resources of an organization.

Beginning with a strategic overview of the organization, this course will use concepts and tools involving organizational analysis, job analysis, workforce planning, recruitment strategies and selection techniques to effectively acquire and develop talent. Employment law within the legal and social context of the organization and organizational entry transition issues will also be examined.
